Because motivating ourselves by trying to prove something or someone wrong won’t last long term and it’s never as satisfying as we think it will be. It may drive our pride to push us a little farther a bit faster in the beginning BUT it won’t be enough to keep us going long term.
AT SOME POINT we have to stop, breathe and remember what's important. We have to remove ourselves from the chaos and focus the gift today has brought us.
Choosing to be positive doesn’t mean you’re not being realistic- it means that you’re focusing on solutions and open to seeing opportunities in the struggle!
The goal is to heal from trauma and dump the unhealthy baggage but to keep the wisdom, compassion and perspective from ALL of the experiences we’ve lived through.
The beautiful thing about getting rid of shame is that it can't survive in the light. Once we're honest with ourselves about why we're hiding and we expose the brokenness - shame shrivels and healing begins.
Doing what makes us come alive isn't some fluffy day dream or catching phrase for a bumper sticker. It's about saying YES to becoming the person we were created to be: EVERY SINGLE DAY.
We will rise up and call others around us up. We will rise as we choose to listen and heal. We will rise up when we choose love over judgement. We will rise up when we choose to honor those who are different than we are. It's time...
When we're able to identify our fear two things happen. We can deal with it head on and then we can take a step forward. Is what you will gain from the decision worth what you might lose?
