Listen, you don't have to have fancy filters or expensive gadgets to make an amazing cup of cold brew AT HOME!!When I was 12 ...hahaha just kidding ... no trips down memory lane today, just an easy recipe to make your own Dynamo cold brew!
One of the things I don't love about the coffee industry is sometimes it can feel really intimating. BUT we know it doesn't have to be! No hipster beanie or 80's mom jeans required, just grab a jar or something that can hold about 4.5 cups of liquid and you'll be 12 hours away from cold brew heaven!
Here's what I used:
A random Mason Jar I didn't even have a lid for
A strainer that was too big to be cute but still worked
A .99 CLEAN handkerchief because we don't have flat bottomed coffee filters
A plastic iced tea pitcher I got at Dollar General
Will these supplies make it into an article for hipster weekly or a beautiful lifestyle blog?? Heck no! But this is real life and we're all about using what we have!
Having great coffee at home is SO easy! We hope you'll try it and tell us what you think! You can also use our SUPER SMOOTH Colombian Decaf! It's Swiss Water processed which means no chemicals were used in the decaffeinating process and it's a great way to enjoy cold brew in the afternoon if you're old like me and can't do caffeine after about 10 am.
Put 3/4 course GROUND Dynamo Reserve Beans into a Large jar or container. If you don't have a grinder our Central Point location can grind it for you. If you don't live in Southern Oregon just take a bag to your grocery store and use the grinder in their coffee isle. PRO TIP: Dark roasts actually come out tasting smoother than medium or light roasts. So even if you're a light roast typpa drinker... try it with our DYNAMO Reserve and I promise you will not be disappointed!
Add 3 1/2 cups of water. Some people say to use filtered water. We actually have a well and I just use that and it turned out great BUT if you don't like the taste of your water we'd suggest using store bought or filtered... NOT a requirement... just common sense:)Stir that puppy up.
Stir that puppy up.
Put a lid on it.Just to keep things from falling in it... cause I don't know about you but dog hair and cold brew aren't my favorite combo:)
Leave it on your counter at room temp for 12 hours. You can also throw it in the fridge if you're more comfortable with that but it will take a good 3 hours longer to get the same strength.
Grab that strainer and either a flat bottomed coffee filter or a CLEAN handkerchief and place it over a pitcher or another mason jar.
Pour the mixture into the strainer.
What comes out on the other end is our Dynamo Reserve DARK BREW AKA cold brew concentrate.Depending on how strong you like it you can add water with a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio.
Put that tasty brew in the fridge and enjoy in the next couple of days!
Add Cream, cold foam and your favorite flavors to taste
