FIND ADVENTURE TODAY! Adventure is all around us, it’s not always taking a trip or discovering a great trail in the mountains. Adventure is a way of life shaped by our perspective! A few years ago we took the vacation from Hell. Six of us in our airstream motor home was interesting enough but then we added in a spring time blizzard in the mountains of Northern California, engine trouble, fuse trouble, a bike getting stolen and CJ getting so sick he couldn’t walk. After about the third thing going wrong I was, shall we say, a little grumpy 🤨 As I snarled orders to my kids, broken down on the side of the road, my oldest looked at me and said, “It’s not a setback, it’s an adventure.” Everything changed for me at that moment. Not just on the vacation, but in life! I needed those words as we quit our jobs with no back up plan to start Outsider and it took 9 months longer than expected to open. I needed those words as we struggled to know how to lead and run a business in our first year. I needed those words daily as I chose growth and humility instead of accepting defeat when we faced one challenge after another navigating the pandemic. I needed those words this summer as we sold almost everything we owned and moved across the country with our 4 boys and 125 pound St. Bernese before we even knew if we had a place to live. What feels like a set back in your life today? Could a shift in perspective turn it into an adventure? Could being curious and choosing growth and humility turn something heavy and challenging into something substantial and life changing??
