The process of waiting is hard because we come face to face with our biggest fears and insecurities and every day... sometimes every 5 minutes... and we have to decide if we're going to give up and let fear win OR if we are going to endure and trust the process.
We can't start fresh if we're still shouldering the baggage of what's behind us. The crazy thing about baggage is that even though it's heavy and hard to carry, even though we've wanted to get rid of it along with the brokenness, shame and regret that often accompanies it - we're so used to carrying it that it's hard to put it down and leave it down.
Everyday you wake up - IS YOUR TURN - to live the life you were created for. That may seem overwhelming or impossible, but that’s only because you’ve convinced yourself it’s not your turn yet.
As I was flipping back to the chapter I was reading I saw the words WAKE-UP and I just sat there for a long time thinking about how I had been swallowed up by my life... going through the motions of being a mom and wife but no having a clue who I was as a person.
Look at all that “your fight” has accomplished in your own life and the world around you. Remember why you started and how strong you’ve become through the process.
Because motivating ourselves by trying to prove something or someone wrong won’t last long term and it’s never as satisfying as we think it will be. It may drive our pride to push us a little farther a bit faster in the beginning BUT it won’t be enough to keep us going long term.
